The incandescent lighting is based on usage of an incandescent light bulb, incandescent lamp or incandescent light globe where a wire filament is heated to a high temperature by an electric current passing through it, until it glows. Unfortunately the result is 95% of heat and only 5% of light. In spite of inert gas or vacuum inside glass bulb the avarage life of such filament is not more than 1000 hours.
Due to that fact and fast development of lighting industry that anabled production of more economical light sources, the European Commission brought Ecodesign Directive (2005/32/EC) in 2009 and prohibited the production of incandescent bulbs in the years to come. They are permanently substituted with halogen, fluocompact and LED light sources.
Recently we witnissed the new old bulbs with multiple wire filament and extremly warm white light as a reminicsence to the first Edison bulbs.
We are here to advise you in which case to use what kind of substitution of incandescent lighting to achieve proper and functional lighting of your interior and exterior.
